Office Grand Opening!
We are so excited to announce the launch of our very first office space! We moved into 438 Carr Avenue, Suite 6 in Homewood this June and are loving having this option available for our clinicians and clients.
Since 2018, Steel City Speech has worked entirely out of homes, and while we will continue to keep the primary focus on in-home speech therapy, we've consistently received requests for an office option from clients for whom travel distance, work schedules, or other factors made in-home sessions difficult for their family. Additionally, having some office time during the week allows our therapists to enjoy a period of higher time efficiency and a break from the road. We are eager to see how this office will be used to advance our mission to enable every child's voice to be heard!
About Our Office
We wanted to share some pictures of our new space so you and your child know what to expect before your first visit! The above photo is a picture of our waiting area, which is available for parents and siblings to use during sessions if you would prefer.
Our two therapy rooms are shown below, complete with plenty of engaging materials for our sessions! Full-sized tables and chairs are also available for sessions with our older clients.

Who can be seen at the office location?
All clients are welcome! We have accommodations for clients of all ages in our office space, however we are currently only in-network with BCBS. Please check with your insurance provider about options for reimbursement/coverage.
What setting is best for my child?
Great question! While we still believe that in-home therapy is a valuable option for many clients and their families, there are also great benefits to having sessions in an office space. If your child is easily distracted at home or you don’t have a distraction-free space in your home for sessions, an office visit may be best for you. The office may also be more convenient for your school pick up/drop off schedule or simply a great change of scenery if your child spends most of their time at home! Additionally, if you live more than 20 miles from our office address, we recommend that your child’s sessions be held in our office location.
How do I locate your office suite?
Coming from Green Springs Highway, the office building will be on your left soon after turning onto Carr Ave. You will enter the parking lot on the right-hand side of the building (arrow shown below), drive around the back of the building, and our office suite will be located on the left side (indicated below)!
I showed up for an appointment and the door is locked. What do I do?
Sometimes our therapists are traveling from home sessions and may not arrive to the office before you - if you are unable to get in contact with your therapist, you can call our office number at 205.201.0413!
Enter the parking lot on the right-hand side of the building and drive around the back to get to our office (located on the left side of the building)!
