Meet Our Business Admin: Dakota Woodson

We’re so thrilled to introduce our Office Admin, Dakota Woodson! Dakota handles Steel City’s billing and client accounts. Her accounting background and love for our little ones makes her a vital part of our team. Welcome, Dakota!

Tell us about your family.

My husband and I moved to Birmingham almost 5 years ago right after we got married. We have been in Vestavia for 4 1/2 years. We have a 3 1/2 year old boy and an almost 2 year old girl, and a 4 year old boxer pup.

Do you have any hobbies or interests?

Some of my biggest interests include creating things, from baking to painting and all the crafting in between. I also love to spend my spare moments tucked into a novel.

Favorite Birmingham restaurant?

Favorite Bham restaurant at the moment is Automatic Seafood & Oysters.

Where did you go to school?

I graduated from auburn with an accounting degree and a minor in Spanish.

Tell us about your professional career so far.

The past 7 years I have been working for an accounting firm located in Huntsville. I started out in tax and transitioned to client accounting services while working remotely.

Why do you think speech and language therapy is important?

Being a mom of two littles has opened up my eyes to how children learn to communicate. Early intervention can help set up a child for success in communicating with their world.
